Q3 Rock Review

It's time to reflect on my rocks for Q3FY24

Did I do what I said I was going to do?

How effective was I?

Category 1: Health & Fitness

Dia and I went to get our Dexa Scans done together. How's that for a romantic date?

Here are a few snapshots from my results:

My goals were:

  • Weight: 155 lbs ✅
  • % Fat in Trunk from 27 to 25 - 10% improvement ✅ by .5%
  • Lean Tissue: 72 to 75.6% - 5% improvement - ❌ by 1%
  • Fat Mass: 24 to 21.6% - 10% improvement - ❌ by 1%

Despite missing some of my goals, I'm happy with the progress.

I injured my arm in March so I was limited to running for a few months.

Once I completed my physical therapy, I started a 10-week weight-lifting program.

I'm in Week 9 now, which means I took this scan back in week 5(?) of my program. I feel like the results would be even better today.

I also had my bloodwork done in September.

My goals were:

  • Keep Lipid Panel the same as the last test - ❌
  • Total Cholesterol: 181 (<200 is where I want to be) - ❌ by 14 points
  • LDL: <119 - ❌ by 17 points

😭

This is disheartening. While my total cholesterol is within range, my LDL is high and I'm running out of ideas to improve.

My doctor gave me until 40 to start statins, but if I'm unable to get it under control with focused effort now, why wait any longer?

I'm in my feelings about this whole thing mainly because it's threatening my identity as a "fit" person.

I did pretty well here. We recovered over ~725K in equity and notes receivables. 80% of that has already been redeployed into new opportunities.

Chesterfield Ct is under contract to sell and should close by November 15.

Project Baltimore is taking longer than expected. We hit a snag with permits midway through the project. We're back on track now, but we burned no less than 45 days trying to figure it out with the city.

Category 3: Passion Project: Niche Affiliate Website

  • Domain: PSBeginner.com - Promoting a SaaS tool called, Propstream
  • 1 Search Engine Optimized AI generated article per day (90 total)
  • 3 Lead Magnets
  • Goal: Traffic of 90 unique visits per day at the end of 90 days

This was a dud. It was also a distraction. I gotta stop succumbing to shiny object syndrome.

We met all process goals and ultimately killed the project in mid-September.

After posting 90 AI-generated blog posts, we had 5 organic visitors to the site in 90 days.

Huge miss.

Debrief

Despite many shortcomings, I'm labeling Q3Fy24 as a success.

The results may not show it across the board, but I can rest easy knowing my process was on point.
