- I just finished Who Is Michael Ovitz? - If you're going to read one book about Hollywood, this is the one. Michael Ovitz is a co-founder of the Creative Artists Agency (CAA). He pioneered "packaged deals" in Hollywood. CAA represented everyone in the movie stack from book authors and screenplay writers to lead actors and directors. He would put the entire "team" together and sell it to the Studio with fantastic deal economics for the Artists, often securing an up-front fee and a backend profit split for everyone involved.
- What I'm Watching
- Season 1 of Penguin on Max. I still can't believe Colin Farrell plays The Penguin. This makeup team better win an Emmy. Episode 4 has one of the highest IMDb ratings for a TV show episode ever at 9.5/10.
- Season 2 of Shrinking on Apple TV. The writing in this show is phenomenal. The leads are Jason Segel (Forgetting Sarah Marshall) and Harrison Ford (No reference necessary). Surprisingly, HF is great at comedy without ever cracking a textbook joke.
- What I'm Listening To
- Trump Wins - The All-In Crew recap what happened on election night, how Trump managed to win despite his image, what can we expect over the next 4 years, and more.
