Livin' La Vida Luna y Luca
My mom is 1 of 7 siblings. All of them live within ~90 minutes of each other.
Family gatherings as a kid were a blast with ~20 cousins. We're trying our best to recreate that environment with this new generation.
Filled My F'n Cup 🥤
Today I celebrate the end of another well-rounded week.
I filled all my F'n cups:
- Family
- Friends
- Fitness
- Finances
Let's go. 🚀
Grandma & Grandpa Visit NYC 🚂 🍎
We grab dinner with my parents every Sunday. A few weeks ago we ate outside at one of our favorite Mediterranean places in Madison.
The train passed through town during our meal a handful of times. After one especially loud toot, my mom said, "I've never been on a train in America."
...She's been here for ~40 years. Gotta fix that.
So on Tuesday, I brought my parents into the city via NJ Transit.
Once we landed in Penn Station, we walked to Dia's office near Bryant Park.
Dia gave my parents a tour of her building. My mom's reaction was hilarious: "This is an office? It looks like an apartment building with lots of amenities. Do people also live here?"
🤣
After the tour, we grabbed lunch at La Pecora Bianca. That place never misses, and their tiramisu is 👌.
After lunch, Dia returned to her office while my parents and I walked through the Winter Village in Bryant Park. Then we all took the train back together.
Solid Day.
Bro Brunch
On Thursday I grabbed brunch with my bros GDS & MC.
An hour of talking shop while downing chili eggs & a cafe tonic is just what the doctor ordered.
I walked away from that hang with clarity on:
- Kitchen Design for Project Silver Spring
- Blacklisted Subcontractors in our market
- Asset Allocation (specifically Crypto as a % of NW)
- Delegating & Elevating vs. Delegating then Micro-Managing
Mentally & Physically Fit
The new training program I signed up for is great.
I'm getting coached through an app called Everfit. I have to log my weight and exercise routine every day. I also have to track how I slept, my hunger levels, and how stressed I am.
If I don't submit my results my coaches call me out.
I LOVE that kind of accountability. As a first-generation American-born Indian kid, I'm almost too receptive to a tight leash and a strong whip. 🤷♂️
I also finished reading Under and Alone: The True Story of the Undercover Agent Who Infiltrated America's Most Violent Outlaw Motorcycle Gang.
If you liked the TV show Sons of Anarchy, this book is for you.
I'm on a biography kick right now.
Next up is From Third World to First: The Singapore Story: 1965-2000 by Lee Kuan Yew.
Project Weston Funded!
Last week I told y'all about Project Weston.
The email went out at 6A. Around 9A one of you reached out to fund the project.
I am feeling insanely lucky and grateful to everyone who reads these emails.
That goes double for those willing to bet on me. 🙏
